Full Roof Replacement Following Spray Foam Damage

We recently carried out a full roof replacement at this property in Luton, where the existing roof rafters had become rotten due to spray foam insulation.

Spray foam insulation can restrict ventilation around the roof timbers and trap moisture, preventing the rafters from drying out properly. Over time, prolonged exposure to moisture can cause the timber to deteriorate and eventually lead to rot.

The project involved removing all of the existing spray foam to expose the roof structure and allow the necessary work to be carried out. With the existing rafters affected by rot, a full rafter replacement was completed, replacing the old timber with a new roof structure.

As the work progressed, the new rafters were installed across the roof before the roof was prepared for its new covering. The project also included the installation of new fascias and guttering.

Once the new roof structure was in place, the roof was completed using plain tiles, providing the property with a completely new roof.
